About Me
Rosie’s Armoire is a small company created by Helen Ashworth from her studio in Lancashire.
Since leaving Glasgow School of Art with a First Class Honours degree in textiles, Helen worked in a variety of jobs but running her own business creating and selling textiles was always her dream.
After completing her MA in Textiles, Helen started selling her work in shops and galleries throughout the UK. In March 2009 she exhibited at the Country Living Fair in London.
“It was such a positive experience, meeting so many like-minded people, gaining contacts and receiving such a good response to my work."
Winning the ‘Editor's Choice’ award for her stand at the Country Living Fair in Scotland in November 2009 gave her the boost she needed to go and pursue her dreams and she created Rosie’s Armoire
"Rosie was the family dog, sadly no longer with us, and an armoire is a French wardrobe.
The inspiration for my work began with the imagined contents of a French armoire: vintage linens, buttons, ephemera and old photographs.
I love sourcing old fabrics and haberdashery, then giving them a new lease of life within my work .I think my customers appreciate that they are buying something which is completely original," said Helen.
“There is also a family history of textiles, making and collecting, so it was inevitable that this would inspire my own work.”
Her collection of hand-printed and stitched textiles is all made by herself from her family's farm in Lancashire. She is also selling products on the website made by her creative family and local craftspeople.
"I wanted to create a website of unique and affordable home accessories and gifts which reflects my passion for textiles, collecting and a love affair with France."
